Good afternoon. I’ll tell you what I believe is not acceptable: expecting your employees to act like robots. We are human beings. We get sick, unexpected situations happen, we have families to take care of, and we also have a life outside of work. In general, I always provide an explanation for my absences. However, in this case, I did not feel comfortable having everyone know about my personal situation, and I am not obligated to disclose every detail of my private life. Where your rights end, mine begin. You may take whatever action you feel is necessary. I had an unexpected personal matter that I needed to handle. If you would like, I can explain the situation to you privately on Sunday. I never miss work simply because I feel like it. In fact, even when I use PTO, Jennifer often asks me to work on my days off, and I gladly come in. Even if you need me tomorrow, you can count on me. However, I do believe the message that was sent to me was unacceptable. There needs to be a certain level of understanding, consideration, and professionalism when communicating with employees.

Hey I wasn't late today. I was clocked in and ready to go at 11:30am. I was just on the other side of the vans because one of our employees was a having issues with his tire on his personal vehicle. I watch Angelo walk up to the vans with the cart and everything. I promise I wasn't late today.
